About the Fire Department

The Fire Department is made up of volunteers who are dedicated to providing effective first responder and fire protection services to everyone in our fire district. See map here: Fire District Map  The department has successfully obtained an ISO rating of Class 5/5Y, which is reflected in lower insurance costs to all citizens. 

Equipment & Training

The Fire Department and town officials have worked to build and maintain the fire station with equipment and resources to maintain that rating. The department has a fleet of trucks which include 5 Brush trucks, 3 Engines, 2 Tankers, 1 Ranger (for recovery, firefighting capabilities) and 1 Rescue (for medical, accidents. Goldsby volunteer firefighters spend many hours training, maintaining equipment, responding to medical calls and auto accidents as well as fighting fires. 

Funding

The Fire Department receives funding through sales tax, donations and grants.
